The mission of the Williams College of Business is to educate students of business enabling them to improve organizations and society, consistent with the Jesuit tradition.
The Williams College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB International).
Degrees, Programs and Block Schedules
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) is offered with 11 different majors at the undergraduate level. Offered at the graduate level are a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with 9 different concentrations, a full time day MBA and an Executive MBA program, as well as a Master of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Science in Customer Analytics.
Also offered at the undergraduate level are an Associate of Business Administration degree and minors in Accounting, Business, Business Analyitcs, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Information Systems, International Business, Management, Operations & Supply Chain Management and Strategic Human Resource Management.
Both undergraduate and graduate students in the Williams College of Business also have the opportunity to participate in an Internship Program and/or study abroad.

Business Core Requirements:
Business Core Courses
A 2.00 grade point average must be attained in the business core. At least half of the 45 total credit hours must be taken at Xavier.
Major Requirements:
18-25 hours are typically required.
Complete the Business Profession seminars:
Electives:
- 3 hours of business courses. (i.e. 300-499 numbered courses in business, beyond the Business Core and the Major courses).
- 3 hours general electives (except for majors that require 21 hours).
Note(s):
- At least half of the credit hours must be taken at Xavier.
- A minimum 2.000 GPA must be achieved for the courses taken within the major.
- Business course credit received ten or more years ago will not be accepted as transfer credit or readmit credit toward current requirements.
TOTAL Minimum Hours Required for Degree: 120 Semester Hours
The Business Profession Program (BPP)
The Business Profession program (BUAD 101-402) is a non-credit program for business students at Xavier. The program provides students with career education, professional development,
and networking opportunities to help them transition into their career.
This program takes an intentional approach to career development. Each semester, BUAD courses will cover topics related to job searching, career planning, workplace readiness, networking and life-long learning.
The Business Profession program helps to provide students with a competitive edge when applying for internships and jobs. Beyond the career modules, students will have the
opportunity to:
- Participate in internships and experiential learning to hone their subject knowledge and workplace skills.
- Network with classmates, faculty, alums, and local business community.
- Develop organizational and leadership skills through student clubs and organizations.
- Attend career fairs and other recruiting events.
- Create a life-long learning and career plan
The program is required for all business students and supplements their academic students.
Internship Program
The Williams College of Business offers academic internship opportunities to qualified students. The Internship for Credit (IFC) program is a structured educational program which integrates classroom learning and practical experience. Work experiences relate to students’ majors and allow them to develop their professional as well as academic skills. Internship opportunities are employer paid and involve faculty participation and evaluation. Students may seek credit for internships for fall, spring or summer semester. Interested students should contact the undergraduate office in the Williams College of Business.
IFC eligibility requirements:
- Have 55 or more earned credit hours; junior status
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.75
- Have a formally declared business major or minor
- Have successfully completed at least one class in the major
- Have been hired in a full time (summer) or part time (fall/spring) internship in the major or field of interest
- Internship must be paid

Center for International Business
The Center for International Business builds international relationships with multi-national corporations and educational institutions that will allow for unique opportunities for WCB students and faculty.
The CIB provides expertise and resources to facilitate the offering of innovative and specialized international business study programs and internship opportunities that enhance our students’ academic and professional development.
The programs are designed to equip our students with a global mindset, cultural sensitivity, and real-world problem solving capabilities that would help them become valuable assets to the organizations that they would serve upon graduation.
Center for Women in Business and Leadership
By supporting women in business, Xavier University is providing the opportunity for women to grow, follow their passion, and ultimately increase the economic stability and security of our communities. The Center seeks to attract women to the business discipline through outreach, to educate the women of the College and University through application of theory and experiential learning opportunities, to support women by creating formal and informal networks that aide in personal and professional development through connection, and to elevate women to leadership positions to in the classroom, boardroom, and across the communities we serve.
Cintas Institute for Business Ethics
The Cintas Institute for Business Ethics focuses on helping students and other Xavier stakeholders recognize and deal with ethical and values-related issues in the workplace. To that end, the Institute sponsors ethics-related programs, workshops and fellowships. It facilitates graduate and undergraduate students, and other stakeholders such as the business community, to have increased moral courage to “do the hard right, as opposed to the easy wrong.” The Institute also helps faculty members increase their exposure and confidence in the areas of business ethics and social responsibility, and serves as a resource for business and community stakeholders.
The Sedler Family Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Sedler Center develops entrepreneurial leaders who seek opportunities, act resourcefully, think creatively and lead ethically to make a difference in their organizations in the world.
Xavier Leadership Center (XLC)
The Xavier Leadership Center delivers high-quality leadership, business acumen, process improvement programs, and coaching and consulting for organizations and individuals. XLC uniquely combines Xavier faculty with experienced business professionals who are subject matter experts to create a team of facilitators that deliver successful and impactful public and private programs. As a non-profit center in Xavier’s Williams College of Business, XLC’s proceeds go back to the mission of Xavier University to help current students.
