The Latin American, Latinx, & Caribbean Studies Minor is an interdisciplinary program housed in the department of modern languages. It is available to all Xavier undergraduates and enhances any major. It is designed to help students achieve an advanced level of ability in the Spanish language and cultural competency in Latin America. Many employers look for evidence that candidates for employment are prepared to deal with the realities of a global society.

18 credit hours required as follows:
1 course in Spanish Language Development
1 course in Latin American Literature and Culture
1 course with Latinx Focus
1 approved elective
- THEO 345 - The Challenge of Peace
- THEO 422 - Solidarity: Possibilities and Limits
- any second HIST or SPAN course listed above
- any course with significant Latin American or LatinX content approved by program director
