HIST 352 - Modern Middle East

This course will survery Middle Eastern History from 1500 until the present. Topics include: The Rise and Fall of the Ottoman Empire, European Colonization, World War I and World War II and the Formation of New Nations, and the critical importance of Oil, Secularism, Zionism, and Islam in the Modern Period.
