MUSC 106 - Music In Film

3 Credit Hours
This course traces the history of music in film from silent films to contemporary cinema. Students will learn key vocabulary for describing the use of sound in film and how genres and styles in music relate to corresponding scenes on the silver screen. A recurring theme will be the ways in which songs are use to enhance, comment on, negate, or distract from meaning in cinematic narratives.
