THEO 342 - World Religions 3 Credit Hours This course is an introduction to five of the world’s major religious traditions: Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism. Using a combination of lectures, video documentaries and discussions, we will approach these religions through their socio-historical developments, major doctrinal and philosophical patterns, moral-ethical teachings, devotional practices, and their place in today’s world. Students are highly encouraged to ask questions and engage freely in discussion.
Prerequisites: THEO111 or CORE105
