PHYS 242 - Circuit Analysis 3 Credit Hours This course significantly extends the basic principles of A. C. and D.C. circuits explored in PHYS 172 toward a more rigorous and comprehensive analysis of circuits constructed from resistors, capacitors, and inductors. Standard methods of analysis such as: i) Kirchhoffs rules; ii) node voltages; iii) equivalent resistance, capacitance, and inductance; and iv) Thevenin’s and Norton’s theorems are introduced. Strong emphasis is placed on the application of these methods toward the analysis of analog circuits.
