PHIL 360 - Social Contract Theory 3 Credit Hours This course explores the history of social contract theory as a framework for political philosophy. Readings will involve the most prominent classical formulations (Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau), critical commentary (Astell, Hume), and the influence of the contractarian tradition on later political theorizing Kant, Rawls).
Prerequisites: ( PHIL100 or CORE105) and ( PHIL290 or PHIL200)
