CJUS 606 - Criminology 3 Credit Hours Presents and analyzes multiple theories in the etiology of crime; both internal and external theories of causality are explored; presents and contrasts several societal reactions to crime; and critically evaluates numerous contemporary methodologies. Learning Theories, Subcultural Theories, Theories of Limited Opportunity Structure, etc., are examined to enhance students’ understanding of typologies of offender behavior and offense types. Offenders with special needs, cultural diversity, women’s issues and chemical dependency are all presented in relation to the crime complex in America today.
