The Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Wellness program at Xavier University is designed to prepare students to enhance the quality of life of individuals and communities. Working in allied health requires a person to be agile and creative, utilizing skills and incorporating interests while caring for the whole person. This undergraduate program offers a broad introduction to health and wellness with an in-depth science background and tracks of learning to meet their individual interests. Completing the Bachelors of Science in Health Science & Wellness provides many flexible pathways to employment as well as graduate studies to cater to diverse career goals. The program will equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for careers in health education, wellness, and non-clinical support roles within the healthcare sector while also allowing students to prepare for graduate programs in specific healthcare fields such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, public health, hospital administration, physician assistant, nursing, and many more medical pursuits.

Additional Notes:


  • A minimum grade of C- or better in BIOL 140-143 is required for most upper division Exercise Science and Health Science Electives.
  • A 2.75 cumulative GPA average must be attained in both core and elective program courses to graduate.
  • This major may not be appropriate for most pre-medical or pre-physician’s assistant students who wish to complete their undergraduate studies in 4 years
