The AS in Health Science introduces principles of human biology to students and helps to prepare them for future clinical careers in allied health and health. It includes an introduction to foundational concepts of human anatomy and physiology, microbiology, psychology and sociology, medical terminology, and electives chosen in consultation with an adviser.

Requirements for the Health Science Major


At least 60 credits are required for the degree.

Notes


  • A 2.000 cumulative GPA average must be attained in program courses.
  • Students aiming to later go on to Nursing should take BIOL 140-143 and BIOL 200-201, as well as General Psychology. Students aiming to later go on to degrees requiring graduate school should take CHEM 160-163, Human Physiology and General Psychology.
  • Consult with the pre-professional health adviser about all health professional plans.
