Primary Education (P-5), B.S. with Special Education minor (Dual License)


This is a dual licensure program that prepares candidates to obtain both a P-5 Primary Education teaching license and a P-5 Intervention Specialist teaching license within 126 credit hours

Includes:

  • Science requirement must be met with one natural science (CHEM or PHYS or BIOL) and one scientific perspective elective course.
  • Humanities elective fulfilled in major with EDCH 324 .
  • Social Sciences requirement is included in the major requirements with EDFD 110 and EDEC 210
  • E/RS Focus Elective that meets another core requirement with THEO 316
  • A 2.5 cumulative overall GPA is required for admission to program and must be maintained for the Bachelor of Science degree. A 3.0 GPA must be maintained in major.

  • Also see “Student Handbook for Primary and Middle Childhood.”
  • A 3.0 GPA must be maintained in the major. Students must receive a “B-” or higher in courses prefixed with EDEC, EDEL, EDFD, and EDSP or retake in subsequent semesters.
