Return to: Majors, Minors, Certificates, Curriculums and Special Programs
Program begins Summer 2025.
The Master of Arts in Global Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) / Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) will offer graduate students from around the world a theoretical and practical approach to English learning. A 36-credit program, this asynchronous program is based on a two-year cohort model, which will run year-round, starting every other year. All courses will be condensed, eight weeks in length, and run consecutively. The primary goal of the M.A. in Global TESOL/TEFL is to develop a complex understanding of the multifaceted nature of global education, the intersecting systems behind it, and the role of global education practitioners in K-12 and higher education internationalization. Students from multiple countries can build partnerships globally as they participate in a cohort model. Licensed Ohio teachers will earn the TESOL endorsement during the program.
