BIOL 446 - Medical Biotechnology


3 Credit Hours
This course introduces students to the ways in which molecular and cellular processes can be harnessed to develop products for medicine and biomedical research. Historical and modern medical biotechnology will be evaluated from a technical perspective, focusing on how the basic biological principles underlying these advances are applied. Ethical and societal implications of the field will be discussed. Emerging avenues in the field will be explored through student-led analysis of current primary literature.

Prerequisites: Undergraduate level BIOL230 Minimum grade of D
