ENGL 364 - Jane Austen: Then & Now


3 Credit Hours
This course explores the historical context and enduring popularity of the works of Jane Austen. We will discuss Austen’s six novels, five film adaptations, some contemporary criticism, and some other recent adaptations of her work. This course will include a research assignment. Students are strongly encouraged to complete ENGL 210 Methods Workshop and/or ENGL 205: Lit & the Moral Imagination or equivalent before enrolling. 

Prerequisites: ENGL101 or ENGL115
