PSYC 375 - Drugs in Society 3 Credit Hours Material covered in this course includes historical and current perspectives on drug addiction. Basic pharmacology and neuroanatomy will be reviewed. Current empirical understanding of the nature and effects of stimulants, nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, depressants, opiates, marijuana, hallucinogens and psychiatric drugs will be covered. Additionally, students will be exposed to current controversies regarding drugs, drug regulation and drug use prevention.
