ENGL 342 - Literature & Poverty 3 Credit Hours This course explores literature written about, and by, those who find themselves at the margins of a culture. This course is wide in breadth and depth, covering writers from Gwendolyn Brooks and Euripides to John Steinbeck and writers living in the Over-the-Rhine section of Cincinnati, Ohio. This course will include a research assignment. Students are strongly encouraged to complete ENGL 210 Methods Workshop and/or ENGL 205: Lit & the Moral Imagination or equivalent before enrolling.
Prerequisites: Undergraduate level ENGL101 Minimum grade of D or Undergraduate level ENGL115 Minimum grade of D
