The School of Arts and Innovation (SAI) is housed within the College of Arts and Sciences. The school includes the departments and faculties of Art, Digital Innovation, Film and Television (DIFT), Human Centered Making, the Innovation Minor, Music, and Theatre.
One of the main purposes of the school is to teach students to solve problems using creative and innovative processes and techniques. Students will synthesize what they learn in this flexible program into a unique hybrid of abilities. Programs in the School will target existing careers in innovation and develop new skill sets that will have unique value. Students will learn to apply their knowledge to community-based projects. Both logic and creative processes will be taught as means to innovate and collaborate among students, faculty, and colleges. Entities outside Xavier provide a key partnership role.
